Benefits of Top-Hung Design
Slung: (verb) Suspended, hung from above
- Top hung doors can be operated with surprisingly little effort, even when carrying large and heavy panels of over 750 lbs
- Wheel assembly is located in the header, not the base, keeping rollers and bearings of contaminants, such as dirt and debris, which are a significant hindrance to the functionality of bottom roller systems.
- Top hung doors provide easy access to different components. Slung! channels, guide tracks, weather striping and wheel assemblies can all be removed, clean and repaired or replaced without removing the glass panels. A single Registered Slung Service Technician can perform all warranty maintenance or deal with callbacks quickly and easily.
- The panels in top hung doors create less friction allowing heavy panels to be operated with as little as 6 lbs of continuous pressure, and also extends the life cycle of the wheel assemblies
- Top-hung doors cannot be pried or lifted out of alignment, which frustrates forced entry and protects against positive and negative wind pressures. As well, heavy, high security glass can be added to the systems, which provides increased blast or bullet resistance if required.
